What is the appeal and advantages of drifting? Can you go faster or is it just idiocy

Default I changed into watching a video of a drifting race and I could not see the practicallity of it…
Maybe its due to the fact I’m used to looking supercars and world sports cars but all I may want to say is, why do they maintain loosing traction within the turns. I bet its simply not my cup of tea but I do not keep in mind it racing. I ought to move waft racing and simply now not float throughout the rac. I’ll say I’m a terrible drifter but I’ll win the race for certain.

Default I find it very amusing to look at. While I turned into attending Skip at Limerock….
I watched a drifting competition. It become actually rattling sweet to look at IMO. You simply must accept that it’s achieved for amusment and does not have a real cause.

A couple pictures from the drifting opposition held on the “autocross” song positioned inside the infiled of Limerock:

Default Its approximately display, and also a demonstratin of car control skill. Also in certain low grip and or tight
nook situations it’s far absolutely the quickest manner. I’ve gotten this automobile sideways (in closed areas) masses of times….Its a hoot.

Default with rally it is a one-of-a-kind story
what is a really perfect line on pavement where the grip is particularly decided but the lateral forces you put on the auto, isn’t the identical in rally.
With rally motors, and mind you this differs for 2wd and awd systems, your grip is already taxed. Making the car go faster is a end result of masses of things, but traction is HUGE. You cant move speedy ahead until your power tires are going ahead. Hmm how is the exceptional manner to put this…?
